Factory Business – The Kingdom of God

Many people believe that the first time they will enter the Kingdom of Heaven will be when they pass from this earth. Do you know that the Lord gives us an opportunity of entering His Kingdom here and now? Not only does He bless us with sight to see His Kingdom, but He also gives us the power to enter while we are still alive!

The Kingdom of God (His government) is a separate system under which God does that which pleases Him.  God himself will not reverse His own Government , reason being that if He contradicts  His principles then the Evil One would have reason to question how and why He blesses people.  We need to pray for revelation of this fact to gain meaningful change in our lives.God's Franchise

What are some of these principles that make up the Kingdom of God? Jesus shares in Matthew some examples of the characteristics of those who abide in the Kingdom. Jesus says this: “We know that …… is sin but I tell you that if you even think of these things you have committed the sin in your heart”. There are many of these principles spoken of in the bible and we need to ask God to reveal them to us in order that we can start to practice them in our lives.

The result of practicing Godly principles in our lives is blessing from God (here and now). There will be rewards in the Kingdom of Heaven (after we leave this earth).

The Kingdom of God is here and now and among us. The Kingdom of Heaven is where we are ‘In Christ’ and this will be our eternal resting place after we leave the earth.

Here and now as we are convicted of our wrongful ways, we call out to the Lord for help. As we do this from a genuine heart, God grants Salvation to us.

The first part (1) of our Salvation – Justification – has been completed – Jesus forgiving our sins and taking our sinful nature away.

The third part (3) of our salvation – Glorification – has been completed – our Glorified body is seated (past tense) ‘in Christ’ at the right hand of the Father in Heavenly places.

The second part (2) of our salvation – Sanctification – is ongoing (although has been completed in Gods eyes). Day in and day out as we live our lives learning to practice Godly principles, we become more like the character God wants us to be.

As we daily become more like the character Gods wants of us,  there will be reward for us in the Kingdom of Heaven. This reward will grow brighter and brighter as we move closer to God on our daily walk here, resulting in Our Glorified bodies growing brighter and brighter in the Kingdom of Heaven!

The practical outworking of this can be likened to a factory that purifies Gold. In section one of the factory, the Gold ore enters and Goldbegins its journey of purification. In the next and final section of the factory is a huge display cabinet where the purified Gold is on display in magnificent glory. The Gold ore experiences extreme temperatures before it can be made so pure.

Our lives are exactly the same. We see the Kingdom of God now – when we become born again and we enter the Kingdom now – when we become born of water and of the spirit . We are now in section one of the factory. Our daily struggles as we learn to practice Kingdom principles, is the refining process.tells us and all these situations are working for our good.

As we daily move through section one of the factory, we are able to see the purified gold in the cabinet in section two. The gold in the cabinet is shining bright – therefore by faith, as we do God’s principles, we can believe our Glorified bodies are going from brightness to brightness!  What a glorious encouragement!

Pray for revelation of this process so that our lives on this earth will be more purposeful and driven to seek God.

Mission Malawi – Chapter Nineteen

 o3.o1.96

Well, “Christmas” and new year have come and gone for another year. Some Christians have again been drawn into the pagan origins of Christmas celebrations for the wrong reasons. How the Lords heart must break at this time when He witnesses the goings on during this season. He weeps and says, “Why do you only focus on Me at this time of the year? Don’t you know I have made you a people set apart, a Royal Priesthood? But instead, you follow the ways of the world in celebrating something which lacks My power and majesty. It is in the death of My son, whom I GAVE for the forgiveness of your sin, that My power is made manifest.

You sing songs and give gifts in My name, but your hearts are not with Me. I need your obedience to fill My heart with Joy. Not only over this season of time but ALL year round, each and every minute of every day”.

It’s sometimes very difficult to understand how God works. The other day I sensed God saying to me, “Am I a man that I should explain my ways to you?” The words came as a bit of a shock to me but after deliberating on them, I could see the truth and when I realized the real awesome, mighty power of God (which words cannot describe), I wondered how I could dare to question Gods ways. Who am I? It is only for me to obey not to question His mighty ways.

I felt that way this morning during my prayer watch between 4-5am. The challenges that faced Kathy and I have become so big. Where to start?

Our immigration permit expires on the 4/2/96 and cannot be renewed. This means we have to go out of the country for three weeks and then we are able to return on new permits.

The one trailer which we brought with us has also reached the end of it’s permitted time in the country and must be imported in to Malawi before the end of February. It cannot be imported until it is released from South African customs, which cannot be done but at the border post in R.S.A. This means a trip to S.A. at great expense (which we don’t have!).

The lease for the house which Chris, Sally, Andy and Sue are staying in, expires at the end of March. Chris and Sally are leaving on 24th January as the doors have opened for accommodation in England, but the question is: Where will Andy and Sue stay?, not to mention all the furniture we have been blessed with that is in the house.

The Owner of our house is not certain whether we can stay on as he may want to move in. At our last meeting he said he would let me know soon.

If we go out of the country, there will be no transport here for the brethren to continue the businesses. Andy and Sue will be on their own and will have to manage with the bicycles.

Arthur phoned from R.S.A. and it seems he is uncertain when or if he will be back. Another great shock!

So, we sit. Does God want to end this work now? ”

Another call from S.A. tells us that Rene (my mother), has no place to stay and needs to come to be with us. I would love to have her here, but how will she cope?

what now lord
What Now Lord?

There is a certain anger which wells up inside of me when I’m trapped in this kind of circumstance. There is nowhere to turn. I feel like screaming at the Govt. departments and saying, “It’s for your people that we have come here, not for our own gain – where is your support for us? – why should we have left what we did just to be treated like this?”

It’s then that I realize it is only by God’s grace that we are here. We are under His “orders” not our wills. HE must decide what will happen. We must follow the Shepherd and trust that He will not desert us. But it’s so hard to trust during uncertainty like this.

04.01.96

I prayed this morning and felt myself becoming softer and softer. It was like a great pair of hands enveloping me. I hear the accuser saying….”The calm before the storm” but by God’s grace, I choose not to buy that thought.

We have been in this kind of situation before and the Lord has never failed us. Each time it occurs I have forgotten the past experience and how wonderfully God worked and shielded us. So, it now seems like a new experience and the pains are being felt all over again.

After that prayer time, these are the words I received: “When God brings a time of waiting, and appears to be unresponsive, don’t fill it with busyness, just wait. Never run before God gives you His direction. If you have the slightest doubt, then He is not guiding. Whenever there is doubt – wait. Never act on the impulse of feeling, if you do, you will cause difficult situations to arise that may take months or years to untangle. Wait for Gods timing and He will do it without heartache or disappointment”. And so, by His grace that’s what I’ll do……

12.01.96

The Lord is definitely doing something, but I wonder what? As I’ve learned previously, it’s not for me to question but merely to obey (by His power).

I have received a letter from the Immigration dept. to say that I may proceed with my application for a Temporary Employment Permit which, if successful, will last for two years, in the meantime I don’t have to leave the country until the application has been answered, one way or the other (thank you Lord).

In answer to my prayers about Rene, she arrived yesterday from Cape Town. She was in a terrible state, hardly able to walk or remember anything. Anyway, there is a great improvement after only one day. Kathy has been such a great blessing with Rene and I’m really grateful. Both Kathy and I really want to look after her, to help her find peace and a sense of belonging. It will be a very trying job, but we trust that the Lord will guide us and give us the necessary strength because we understand this to be the right thing to do.

We should look after our parents so that they may have life and fellowship in the body of Christ and not amongst the world in special ‘homes’. We should have the opportunity of giving back to them something of which they gave to us as they brought us into the world.

It is a wonderful time to minister into fears, regrets and doubts. Lord please let us know that we have the grace you have so willingly poured over us.

Be still in your busy day…

We are busy in our lives. Whether it is at work, at play, bringing up children, managing work colleagues or simply trying to make ends meet – we are busy and in today’s world, it seems we are getting busier. We are constantly pouring ourselves out into the lives of others. The common factor of all these types of busyness is that they drain us – physically and emotionally.

Is it possible for us to – ‘take time out’?

Yes it is! I’m not necessarily talking of going on a vacation for a few weeks, although that would be very nice, no, I’m talking about taking ‘time out’. This time out can be a few minutes or a few hours depending on our circumstances. Ever heard of a ‘power nap’? Well, what about a ‘power time out’?

A wonderful scripture says, “Be still and know that I am God…”Be Still...2

The other day I had planned my day as I thought it best. I was secure in my plan, which in turn brought me peace of mind. As I began the day, I received a business call, which would result in me having to make a one hour round trip by car to fulfil an urgent need of one of my customers. My first reaction was to start complaining, grumbling because MY plans had now been changed. My day was already under pressure and now it would seemingly get worse…..

I climbed into the car and set off on my trip. Very soon, I began to dwell on the thought – ‘the Lord knows everything’. As I ‘abided’ in that thought, I began to calm down and the anxiety started to drift away.  It was then that the scripture came to me…. “Be still and know that I am God….”

I asked the Lord to help me linger in this scripture while driving. Jesus said that if we abide (to stay a while – not jump in and out) Abide in Mein Him, then He will abide in us. So I kept the scripture on the movie screen of my mind and this is what the Lord showed me….

“Be still and know that I am God…”

‘Be’ – “Just BE”, said the Lord. “Just exist…don’t try to be somebody that you aren’t. I fearfully and wonderfully made you. There is no other like you. Wherever you go – just BE. Split seconds before you were conceived in your mother’s womb, you did not exist, but I formed you – and you were! From the foundation of time I planned for you to BE”, said the Lord.

‘Still’ – Where there is stillness, there is depth. Our Father so desires for us to come to a deeper place with Him. We cannot find that depth until we are still, a still place where He will share His heart with us, where we will hear His heartbeat.

‘and Know’ – “Don’t try to figure me out”, said the Lord, “don’t take opinions of others and form Me into those opinions – simply ‘KNOW’ that I am God, simply ‘KNOW

‘I am’ – “There is nothing outside of Me”, said the Lord, “Walk with boldness wherever you go, for I am with you. Wherever YOU go…I AM” said the Lord…

Had my plans not changed that day, I would have missed this ‘time out’ with the Lord.

For those of us who are parents, normal conversation with our children is usually about them constantly ‘asking’ us for things. How lovely it would be for us instead, to sit with our children and hear them expressing their opinions about life or simply saying to us, “I love you…”

God is the same with us. He would love us to have ‘time out’ with Him and discuss the things on our hearts while telling Him that we love Him.

Don’t plan your next time out – just do it. Stay focused on Him for a few quiet minutes and let Him share His heart with you. Receive from Him rather than asking from Him. You will be blessed, and your inner strength will be revitalized.

A Timeless Tale – Chapter Four

Your Future Body

Our acceptance to a new and better existence after our body on this earth dies, will automatically present us with a new body.

By way of explanation, let us go back to the Garden of Eden.

In chapter one, I mentioned that God created humankind in His image (His lookalike) and his likeness (His character)[1]

In chapter three I mentioned that, through the crucifixion of Jesus, those of us who believed and accepted what He accomplished, would benefit from a rebirth process.

A Privilege to be Used

Have you ever wondered why it is that we find ourselves in the daily situations and circumstances that we do?

There are a number of answers to that question but one answer is that we are used by God as vessels to bring salvation to others as well as presenting situations before Him. What an exciting thought – to be used by the almighty Father! Is it possible the Lord would need to use us as ‘agents’ here on earth? Well, yes it is!

A Day in the Life of the Narrow Road

“Consider it all joy”, says James from his book in the new testament, “When you encounter various trials…”

One wonders why somebody would make that kind of statement. James goes on….. “Knowing that the testing (trying) of your faith produces endurance”. He further goes on to say,”And let endurance have its perfect (mature) result, so that you may be perfect (mature) and complete, lacking nothing”.

A Timeless Tale – Chapter Three

You can start this series from the beginning, if you would like to catch up.

Where You Fit In…..

Tell me that you are getting something out of what we have discussed so far. I’ll wager that a lot of it, you never heard before; I hope so, because, if you are like me, you love hearing about new things.

Let’s update then. You feel that there might just be the possibility that your soul and spirit may not dissipate with your body when it dies, so you feel that you would like to investigate a little further.

Maybe, you’ve been a real enthusiast and looked into a few religions that might just meet with the immigration requirements that you have – good on you and well done.

Maybe you didn’t get that far yet, but have decided to keep reading; either way – good on you!

Where you fit in to the picture now, is taking a look at what you can do about getting the immigration requirements you need from this little e-book and I really want to help you with this.

Moving along with The Tree of Life Process we will want to know how we are able to take hold of what Jesus did on the cross, in order to get us all the free benefits in this life and meet the immigration requirements in the next existence.

Before we continue, I need to tell you something. I know I quipped about the cost of joining the club earlier, but the reality is, that in the truest sense, there is no club.

There is only God and you.

What will happen however is that once you have had the meeting with God, you will attract others who, like you, have also had a meeting with God. This leads to the need to spend time with these people, because that way you enjoy being with them and you learn at the same time.

But this is the thing you MUST REMEMBER. Your meeting with God and the receiving of all the benefits from Him, IS NOT DEPENDANT on you belonging to some club or organization or being monitored and controlled by a management team.

If you are sincere in wanting to meet with God, and if you have read this far, I believe you must be, then God Himself will lead you to those who will sincerely coach you, as and when God wants you to be coached.

Having said this we can continue now with The Tree of Life Process:

The Tree of Life Process – Continued

How do I personally take hold of the benefits for my life from what Jesus did on the cross?

I know that this may sound a little strange to you, but the answer to the question is, “Not much really”!

According to what Jesus said in the Gospel books, how you will begin to take up the benefits of The Tree of Life Process is actually dependant on God alone and not you.[1]

What I mean when I say this is; God understood, before He created the heavens and the universe, that you would want to receive the benefits from His Tree of Life Process. As a result He earmarked you to have them. Let’s put it this way: It’s not a matter of God being selective as to whom He gave the benefits, it’s just that He knew who would accept and who would reject His offer. (God is omniscient – knowing all things). Being very efficient in everything that He does, He would not offer something to someone, whom He knew beforehand would reject it, so then, He does not offer it to them at all.

What I have explained above is very, very important. There are many who believe that God’s Tree of Life benefits must be widely and loudly broadcast, often using techniques to persuade others to ask God to give these to them. Because God does not need the use of human marketing methods to accomplish what He wants, such efforts are, in the deepest sense, futile. However, God is supreme and His methods are not understood fully by humanity[2], but God will, if it suits His purpose, even use the futility of human effort, to accomplish His purpose.

I say that no human can receive from another human something that is not experiential in the human that is giving. In other words, if it’s not real in my life, I can’t (effectively) transfer it to you.

Remember: There is only God and you.

To summarize: God offers, you receive –it does not work any other way. So, you ask Him (no one else) and He gives to you.

The next step is believing in what actually happened at Calvary, where Jesus was crucified on a wooden cross.

What did happen?

He was nailed through the palms of his hands and His feet to the wooden beams. The cross was raised and dropped into a support socket, so that it would remain erect.

The basis of this procedure (a Roman form of punishment) was that the victim would ultimately die a very slow and painful death by asphyxiation.

Now, much has been written over the years about the physical suffering of Jesus on that cross, but, without appearing heartless for His suffering, I must say, that the pain and suffering were not the true issue here.

The real issue was that this event was the most significant and at the same time, the most powerful in the history of humanity and here’s why:

In agreement with God, Jesus offered to give up His Life as compensation for the blood sacrifice that God had always required over the millennia when His people had been disobedient. But this time it was different, Jesus would die and his bleeding body, in death, would be the very last sacrifice for humanity’s disobedience. God would require no more sacrifices from humanity after this event.

The crucifixion of Jesus was the reason for His birth and life on this earth. Without Him, there was no hope for humanity and the perfect completion of God’s original and ONLY plan.

How do you go about BELIEVING in what happened at Calvary and how does this believing bring you to the place of receiving the fruit (benefits) from The Tree of Life process, here on this earth and then immigration acceptance in the next existence?

Another way of saying, “believing in” is to have faith in. If I came up to you as a perfect stranger and said, “You are headed for a wonderful experience in this coming week”. I suppose your first reaction would be, “How do you know”? And I might say, “Someone told me and it’s not important that you know who, just now”. With this I walk away.

You say to yourself, “That man is a complete stranger, who doesn’t know me, but he must know something about me from some unearthly source”.

Now, you want a wonderful experience this week – right? So, you do not reject what I say, but rather, you accept it because that’s what you would like to happen for you.

You might say, “How stupid is that guy, what does he know about me?” You go on your way and soon forget what I said.

Which side of you is, “believing in” what I said?

OK, no prizes for the correct answer, but you get the idea.

Let’s do a little visualization here….You have time travelled to zero AD. Jesus is hanging on the cross and is in the stage of His last breath. You happen to be standing with the little group of women, including his mother, Mary.

He looks down at you….yes, you. At first you turn your head, because you can’t honestly look into his eyes, there is something about yourself that makes you feel that you not good enough to take in his gaze. Then you turn and look at Him. He starts to speak, you strain to hear. You cannot believe what He is telling you. “Come up here and die with me”. “What?” you say to yourself, “What are you asking?” As if he can read your thoughts, He continues. “If you are willing to die to your disobedient life, I will give you a new life here on this earth and a paradise for your soul and spirit when your body dies”.

You pause and try to reason, and then you say to yourself, “This man is a complete stranger, who doesn’t know me, but he must know something about me from some unearthly source”.

What seems like an hour, but in fact is only a few seconds you make your decision and hesitatingly say, “Take me, I want to go with you.”

Jesus turns his head towards the little group of women and it’s not long after, lifting His head upwards, he cries out a sentence in a language you do not understand and his head sinks in submission to death.

Suddenly, to a woman, the little group begin to wail.

It is a strange thing, that in this horror scene, you are feeling elated, you cannot understand why…but later you will come to know.

The reason for you feeling the way you do, is that something spiritual has taken place between you and God via what Jesus has just accomplished on the cross.

What did He do? He became the final sacrifice for your sins (and all other humans). When I say sins, I mean your past sins, your present sins and finally your future sins. For your part you obeyed the request from the lips of Jesus to, “Come up here and die with me”. Spiritually speaking, you joined Him on that cross and died with Him.

It did not stop there, because He was buried that day and likewise, you were buried with Him.

Finally, after three days, He rose from the dead and was lifted up into heaven, to be seated at the right hand (place of authority) of God and you went with Him, to be seated with God.[3]

Now looking at yourself, you will notice that you are still very much here on earth!

But in the spiritual sense your soul and spirit are with God, as they are the eternal parts of you and not limited by time or space. Your body, however, remains earthbound.

Seated with Jesus, next to God, the mindset that you had (which used to disobey the will of God) before you agreed to join Jesus on the cross, is no longer in you. It was buried at Calvary, never to be resurrected again.

So now you are a new person, seated with Jesus, next to God and you have a new mindset that is passionate to obey God in all respects.

You have just undergone a ‘rebirth’ process[4] and the benefits of this process are:

  • You begin to see God in a new light. You understand something about his character and the Kingdom that He established here on this earth.
  • You begin to actually live; the way God wants you to live on this earth, adopting his Kingdom Principles[5].
  • You make immigration approval to a new and better existence.

In the next chapter I would like to talk a little more on the subject of our position with God and Jesus in eternity (which for you and I will be the new and better existence for which we have now qualified).

A Timeless Tale – Chapter two

Why not start at the beginning of the series?

In the times of the first five books of Moses, at the beginning of the Old Testament, God made an arrangement with His people.

Instead of the severity of the punishment, suffered by Adam and Eve, for their disobedience, God arranged for people to come to His temple in Jerusalem, once a year, bringing along with them a pair of spotless (free of any blemishes) lambs, or if they could not afford these, then two pigeons would be in order. [1]
